THE DG KADIFF AUDU KASHIM ISRAEL FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIAN FAITHFUL AT EASTER
The Director General of the Kaduna international film festival Audu Kashim Israel felicitates with Christian faithful at Easter.
In his Message Audu highlights the significance of Easter and the sad security situation in Nigeria. "Easter is one of the most important Christian festival, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion. It signifies victory over sin and death, confirms Jesus's divinity, and offers hope for eternal life. Easter marks the end of the 40 - day Lenten season (Which began on Ash Wednesday) and the beginning of the Easter season".
"As we celebrate this sacred season of Easter, a time that symbolizes sacrifice, renewal, hope, and victory over darkness, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. Easter reminds us that even in the most difficult moments, light will always triumph over darkness. It is a call for reflection, compassion, and a renewed commitment to building a better society rooted in love, unity, and peace.
However, as we celebrate, we cannot ignore the pressing security challenges facing our nation Nigeria. Across many parts of Nigeria, families continue to live in fear due to insecurity, violence, and uncertainty. This reality weighs heavily on our collective conscience and calls for urgent, sincere, and coordinated actions from all stakeholders—government, security agencies, community leaders, and citizens alike. When the recent attack in Plateau and Kaduna states happened on Palm Sunday a Catholic priest and friend from South Korea sent me a message and said "Are your people safe ? All I hear about Nigeria is war" Indeed a sad situation. And I ask When will this ever end? Nigerian leaders please wake up! The world is watching".
This Easter, let us not only pray for peace but also commit ourselves to being agents of peace. Let us promote tolerance, support one another, and stand firmly against all forms of violence and division. Our strength as a nation lies in our unity and our shared determination to overcome adversity.
May the resurrection power of this season bring healing to our land, comfort to those who mourn, protection to our communities, and wisdom to our leaders. May hope rise again in Nigeria.
Happy Easter, and God bless our nation.
