THE FOUNDER OF KADIFF AUDU KASHIM ISRAEL FELICITATES WITH MUSLIM FAITHFUL AT EID-AL-ADHA

The Executive Director Kaduna international film festival and Vice chairman Nigerian film festivals Association Audu Kashim Israel felicitates with Muslim faithful around the world on this year's Eid-Al-Adha celebration.

Audu in his message reads - "Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid al-Kabir, is a major Islamic festival commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of obedience to God's command. While Ismail was ultimately replaced by a ram, the story emphasizes themes of submission to divine will, sacrifice, and generosity. The festival is celebrated worldwide by Muslims, with Qurbani (animal sacrifice) and sharing with the less fortunate being central practices".

This story can also be found in the Bible though with little similarities. According to the Bible, God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. However, in the Islamic tradition, it is believed that Ishmael was the son destined for sacrifice. The story of the sacrifice is found in Genesis 22.

The story of Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son highlights the importance of surrendering to Allah's commands, even when they seem difficult.

"As we celebrate let us remember that the meat from the sacrificed animal is typically distributed to the poor and needy, families and friends emphasizing the importance of charity and compassion. The poor, needy, less-privileged , orphans, widows, those struggling because of the economic hardship in Nigeria should not be left out in the celebration"

"Eid al-Adha is a time for Muslims to reflect on their faith, practice generosity, and strengthen their bonds with their community. It's a time to reflect and avoid negative thoughts and actions. Let us be a symbol of unity, sacrificing for one another mostly especially our neighbors, friends, families, colleagues and those around us. Let us bring hope, light and peace to our communities".

"I urge us to celebrate with love, tolerance and inclusion"

This is a reminder that Kaduna state is ready to host youths, creatives, film enthusiasts and international visitors around the world from 26th to 30th August 2025 for the 8th Kaduna international film festival. We look forward to receiving you all.

"I wish all Muslim faithful a Happy Eid celebration"
