KADIFF MOURNS MOPPAN NATIONAL PRESIDENT ALHAJI MAIKUDI UMAR
The Founder of Kaduna international film festival and Vice chairman Nigerian film festivals Association Audu Kashim Israel has expressed shock over the sad news of the death of Motion pictures practitioners association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) National president Alhaji Maikudi Umar also known as Cashman .
"Late Alhaji Maikudi was a humble, loyal and committed man, the few years I have known him he was very supportive of the Kaduna international film festival since it began in 2018. He has served as a panelist, resource person, Zonal coordinator and until his death a member of the 8th Kaduna international film festival board of jurors. Indeed! His death was a personal loss to KADIFF"
"Your support and contribution to KADIFF cannot be forgotten, you have made an impact to the industry, whenever I call you to attend our programs or even serve in any capacity during our festival or program you never say No! I remember when you told me you want to also start a film festival in Zaria to contribute to the growth of the film industry in Zaria and you also need my support to actualize this dream. An event I looked forward to. We will deeply miss you".
Alhaji Maikudi Umar (Cashman) was a seasoned educator, filmmaker, and industry leader. As a Chief Lecturer at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, he taught film and television in the Department of Languages, Mass Communication, Film, and Multimedia Studies. He has featured in so many Nollywood films both English and Hausa and won awards to his credit.
May the Almighty grant Alhaji Maikudi's soul eternal peace. Our heartfelt condolences to the film industry in Nigeria, All members of MOPPAN and His immediate family. Amen. Rest in peace!
