THE FOUNDER OF KADIFF AUDU KASHIM ISRAEL FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS FAITHFUL AT EID AL-ADHA
The founder of Kaduna international film festival and Vice chairman Nigerian film festivals Association Audu Kashim Israel felicitates with Muslim faithful around the world on this year's Eid Al-Adha celebration.
Eid Al Adha also known as Greater Eid, Is also called عيد الأضحى (Eid-al-Adha) or العيد الكبير (Eid-al-Kabir) in Arabic. It is one of the two major Islamic holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide. The Eid-Al-Adha story is deeply rooted in Islamic tradition and is one of profound faith and submission to God’s will. The Eid-Al-Adha story is about celebrating Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to God by being willing to sacrifice his son. God intervened by providing a lamb for sacrifice instead. The story of Abraham presenting his son for sacrifice can also be found in the Bible, Genesis 22 : 6 - 14.
The day of Eid-Al-Adha falls on the tenth day in the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar known as Dhu Al Hijjah. The celebrations is dependent on a legitimate sighting of the moon following the completion of the annual Holy Pilgrimage of Hajj. This year Eid Al-Adha falls on Sunday 16th June 2024.
The holiday is marked by special prayers, social gatherings, and giving to charity, reflecting the spirit of generosity and compassion in our family, community, society and environment. It’s a time for Muslims to remember the trials of Abraham and to celebrate the strength of faith and obedience to Allah’s will. Eid-Al-Adha is not only a reflection of historical events but also a reminder of the importance of sacrifice and charity.
As we celebrate this year's Eid Al-Adha I urge us to have the spirit of sacrifice for one another, to love, patience, humility, kind and generous, As we celebrate let's remember the less privileged, poor, Widows and orphans. With the current economic hardship in Nigeria I plead and urge our leaders to sacrifice and reduce the cost of items in the market among other items that have skyrocketed. I also call on our leaders at the national level to put an end to the current security challenges in Nigeria and make things ease for its citizens.
"I look forward to hosting all visitors and tourists to Kaduna state Nigeria for the 7th Kaduna international film festival scheduled to hold from 27th to 31st August 2024 with the theme "cinema and cultural exchange"
"I wish all Muslim faithful a happy and wonderful Eid Al-Adha celebration"
