THE FOUNDER OF KADIFF AUDU KASHIM ISRAEL MOURNS A VETERAN KANNYWOOD ACTRESS SARATU GIDADO
The founder of Kaduna international film festival and Vice chairman Nigerian film festivals Association Audu Kashim Israel received the sad news of the death of a veteran Kannywood actress SARATU GIDADO popularly known as Daso with shock.
Saratu Gidado who died in her sleep in the early hours of Tuesday 9th April 2024 after the midnight meal before the commencement of the day’s Ramadan fast (Sahur) was known for the role she always plays as an aggressive and mischievous actress who defied all odds to rise to stardom. She made her film debut in 2000 in Linzami Da Wuta, produced by Sarauniya Movies. Other hits such as Nagari, Gidauniya, Mashi, and Sansani followed among others. She was indeed loved by her fans, family members and the Kannywood industry. She will be deeply missed.
Daso was a prominent figure in the Hausa film industry for over 18 years. Her remarkable performances and versatile roles endeared her to audiences across the Northern region. Prior to her illustrious acting career, Saratu served as a dedicated school teacher. Saratu Daso will be buried by 4pm today according to Islamic rights.
KADIFF appreciates the role she played in putting smiles in many northern family homes. We will miss you. Rest in peace. Our condolences to the family she left behind.
