KADIFF Honours Kaduna Nollywood star Hon. Nita Byack George The annual Kaduna international film festival which held its 5th edition recently honoured some personalities. One of which is Hon. Mrs. Nita Byack George a Nollywood star and the current sole administrator Jaba local government Kaduna state Nigeria. She is well known for her role in Rariya (2017), Dirt (2019), Henna (2015), Sons of the caliphate series (2016).. Among others. Hon. Nita is also a model, TV host and the President and Founder of the Geonita Initiative for Women and Child Development (IWACHD), a local organization working to improve the health, development, and empowerment of women, girls, and youth in Kaduna, Nigeria. The founder of Kaduna international film festival Audu Kashim Israel personally presented an award to her shortly after a meeting to discuss plans ahead of the next project for the youth and creatives in Kaduna state and how to make the next edition more successful than the 2022 edition. Audu noted that the special recognition award was given to her for the role she plays in promoting and supporting the creative industry in northern Nigeria not forgetting the significant role in empowering women, the girl child and youth in Kaduna state through her foundation. In her acceptance speech she thanked the film festival for honouring her and applauds the founder for sustaining the festival in the north and for choosing Kaduna state despite the challenges in hosting a huge event such as this. She assured that we will continue to work together through her office with the festival to support culture, the creative industry, women, girl child and youth in the state.
