THEME: SEASON OF LOVE AND RECONCILIATION 

 Christmas, Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life. The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sunrise the next day), so people had it at Midnight, So we get the name Christ-Mass, shortened to Christmas and not Xmas as some people call it. 

Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world, whether they are Christians or not. It's a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and especially children, also like Christmas as it's a time when you give and receive presents.

 The earlier term Yule may have derived from the Germanic jōl or the Anglo-Saxon geōl, which referred to the feast of the winter solstice. The corresponding terms in other languages—Navidad in Spanish, Natale in Italian, Noël in French all probably denote nativity. The German word Weihnachten denotes “hallowed night.” Since the early 20th century, Christmas has also been a secular family holiday, observed by Christians and non-Christians alike, devoid of Christian elements, and marked by an increasingly elaborate exchange of gifts. In this secular Christmas celebration, a mythical figure named Santa Claus plays the pivotal role. Christmas this year will be celebrated on Saturday, December 25, 2021. 

Christmas is a call to be tolerant to one another, be peaceful, show love and humility. Christmas is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation, let us be at peace and not war, put a smile on someone's face as we celebrate. That person you are keeping malice with or not in talking terms with, this is a time to smile at each other with love. While we urge everyone to pray for our leaders it is a wake up call for our leaders to rise up to it responsibilities and put an end to the current security challenges and provide better welfare for it citizens. Prayers without action will yield no result. We await a day that southern Kaduna, Jos, Benue, south East, North East, North West and Nigeria as a whole will be free from killings and unrest. 

 The birthday of Christ  is a reminder that God has come to save us from the troubles of the world and he will see us through till the end of our challenges. As we celebrate Christmas let us remember the poor, the less privileged, orphans, our neighbors and widows.
