FOUNDER OF KADIFF ISRAEL KASHIM AUDU FELICITATE WITH MUSLIM FAITHFUL AT EID-UL-MAWLUD
MESSAGE BY ISRAEL KASHIM AUDU FOUNDER KADUNA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AS MUSLIM FAITHFUL MARK EID-UL-MAWLUD 2021 : Mawlud, is the observance of the birthday of prophet Muhammad which is commemorated in Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. 12th Rabi' al-awwal is the accepted date among most of the Sunni and Shia scholars, while few Shia scholars regard 17th Rabi' al-awwal as the accepted date. This year Nigerians join other Muslim faithful across the world to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlud on 19th October 2021.
In the early days, songs and poems were composed to honour Prophet Mohammed and thereafter recited and sung to the crowd.
Some of the most common methods of celebration are however seen to be decoration of mosques and houses, also some celebrate by donating to charity.
While several others see this day as a time of reflection and meditation and further spend the free time in reading their Quran or fasting in daylight, as they believe it helps strengthen their faith.
This is a constant reminder to all practising Muslims to be steadfast and dedicated in the religion while being charitable, tolerant and ensuring peaceful co-existence most especially at a time in Nigeria that agitations is common hereby causing division, its a call for our leaders to bring an end to the current situation we are faced with.
We pray and hope that Nigeria will be free from boko haram, bandits, and criminals causing unrest. A country of peace and unity. I believe that the creative industry, religious leaders, traditional leaders, public figures and celebrities have a key role to play in national unity.
As we celebrate Eid-Ul-Mawlud 2021 I urge Muslim faithful to be light wherever the find themselves, understanding, peaceful, loving and tolerant, avoid evil and may this day bring blessings to those who seek the fruit of the womb in their homes. Remember to celebrate with the poor, less privileged and orphans.
Wishing all Muslim faithful a happy celebration!!!
