Easter is a Christian festival which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This year Easter Sunday falls on 4th April while Good Friday falls on 2nd April and will be celebrated all across the globe.


 According to the New Testament of the Bible, Easter occurs three days after the crucifixion of Jesus by Romans, the summary of the three days Easter story is also called Paschal Triduum. Easter concludes the “Passion of Christ”, which begins with a 40 days period of fasting (Lent) and is concluded by the Holy Week. Holy Thursday (celebration of Jesus’s last supper), the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday and Holy Saturday are part of the Holy Week which ends on Easter Sunday.


Whether we like it or not, we are bound to experience the Easter story in our lives as believers. There are some days that it would seem as if the world is falling apart on us. There are days that our enemies may appear to be having the upper hand; days that we get the direct opposite of our prayers; days that our faith is so terribly shaken and we begin to wonder if God is still powerful but at the end remember you will rise again just like Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. With the high cases of insecurity in Nigeria, kidnappings, unrest, hatred for one another, religion, tribe, race, political violence. At Easter one great lesson we should learn is peace, tolerance, accepting responsibilities, love for one another, forgiveness and reconciliation. Following the lifestyle of Christ Knowing that your difficult situation today God is always with you. 


Cheer up. The sufferings you are experiencing now may seems shameful, painful and difficult. Don’t worry, just as we  celebrate Easter (the resurrection of Christ) this year, people will come from north, east and west to listen to your story and congratulate you. Do not give up on God. 


As we celebrate Easter this year I urge the film makers to tell more stories on victory, love, tolerance, peace, reconciliation and forgiveness. 


Make that call today and put a smile on someone's face, celebrate with loved ones, friends, families, and the less privileged.

The Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprise (iDICE) programme is geared to provide strategic, technical, and operational support to the PCU and fund advisory board of the $617.7m iDICE program. VICTOR OKHAI HEAD, BOARD OF JURORS  The founder of Kaduna international film festival and Vice Chairman Nigeria film festivals Association Audu Kashim Israel have reappointed Dr. Victor Okhai as head board of Jurors for the 7th edition of the festival. Dr. Okhai who headed the board of jurors for the 6th edition last year was committed to discharging his duties in fairness.
